Directions

Koh Phayam is located 30 km south west of Ranong. You will have to get to Ranong first and then take a boat to Koh Phayam. There are several slow boat and speed boat services to the island every day. Slow boats (~200 Baht) leave at 9.30am, 10am and 2pm and speed boats (~350 Baht) start at 8.00am with several services until 5.00pm in high season. The slow boat needs approx. 2 hours to Koh Phayam, the speed boat about 45 minutes. From the pier to Saithong Bungalow it’s just a 5 minute ride on a motorbike taxi (50 Baht).

From Bangkok to Ranong

In high season you can fly from Bangkok to Ranong several times a week with www.nokair.com. Nok Air operates from Bangkok Don Muang airport. The flight takes approximately 1,5 hours. Ranong airport is located ca. 20km outside the city. Taxis (minibuses, shared with other travelers) are usually waiting at the airport to take you to Ranong Pier or into the city.

Chocanan Tour Bus Company operates 24- ,32- and 36-seat aircon buses that depart the Southern Bus Station two times a day at 09.00 and 20.00. Telephone: +66 (0) 2894 6300-2, +66 (0) 7751 1480. VIP buses cost approximately 750 Baht. Additionally, slow bus services leave at 8:30, 10:30 and 13.30 for 350 Baht.

Getting to the Koh Phayam Pier in Ranong

In Ranong, take a taxi motorcycle or songthaew to the Koh Phayam pier for around 70 Baht. If you arrive by air, there are usually taxis waiting at the airport to take you to the Pier directly.

From Chumpon to Ranong

A minibus 500m from the train station leaves every hour from 06:00 to 17:00 and takes around 2 hours. You may consider to take a taxi there. Costs approximately 150 Baht.

From Surat Thani to Ranong

A minibus leaves every hour from 06:00 to 17:00 and takes about 3 hours. Costs approximately 200 Baht.

Bus from Phuket, Khao Lak and Takuapa to Ranong

Start from Phuket Bus Station at 5:30 am, 7:30 am, 8:10 am, 10:00 am…. Last bus at 6:00 pm. Takes about 5 hours.
